The man on form here in Valencia, Adrian Sutil has topped the final practice session for the European GP by setting the fastest time of the weekend so far. He proved quicker than Nakajima and Kubica. The session was however disrupted by Sebastian Vettel's engine blowup.

The first man to set a laptime was Lewis Hamilton, being on track with Luca Badoer. Both men need the tracktime to get to know the circuit better. Badoer for obvious reasons while Hamilton lost most of FP2 due to an engine change.

At the halfway mark, Sutil had taken over with a best of 1:39.897, just topping Kubica and Hamilton, all within the same tenth of a second. Heikki Kovalainen looked set to improve that just when the session got red-flagged due to Vettel's Renault engine blowing up. The marshalls needed about 5 minutes to clear the oil from the track.

After the green light, the track remained empty for a while until most cars came out on track for a final attempt to improve. Adrian Sutil once again improved to 1:39.143, the fastest time of the weekend.
