Alonso will drive for us someday - di Montezemolo

While not admitting when or how Fernando Alonso will join Ferrari, chairman Luca di Montezemolo has openly shared his wishes for the Spaniard to one day drive for his team. Although the soonest season possible is 2011, as all current race and reserve drivers are contracted through 2010.

"Sooner or later it will happen, but we'll have to wait and see when that will be. For 2010 we have Raikkonen, Massa, Fisichella, Badoer, Gene and Schumacher so we have plenty of drivers," di Montezemolo was quoted as saying by the Spanish press at the Monza circuit.

"I have always been a big fan of Alonso because he is a great driver. He won titles and sooner or later all great drivers come to Ferrari."
