Hamilton leads first practice in Spain

Lewis Hamilton has started his weekend like he did at China by being fastest in the first free practice session in preparation for the Spanish GP on Sunday. Jenson Button was second fastest, while Michael Schumacher came in third quickest in the updated Mercedes GP.

The session was highly anticipated due to the number of new car updates that are being introduced for the first European race of the season. Many teams have tested new items, resulting in several trips off into gravel traps by various drivers.
