Schumacher handed 20 second penalty

Following today's last corner events during the Monaco GP, the stewards have carefully considered the overtaking matter of Michael Schumacher over Fernando Alonso. The team judged Schumacher was not allowed to overtake and handed him a 20 second penalty.

The Mercedes GP driver passed Alonso just as the safety car had left the circuit on the final lap, and stewards deemed the race was still finishing under the safety car.

The penalty effectively drops to 12th in the race finish ranking. Instead of 6th place, he will therefore leave Monaco without any points.
