Heidfeld prepared to leave Mercedes for a race seat
In his quest to return to the cockpit as a race driver Nick Heidfeld is ready to depart from the German Mercedes squad if necessary. Speaking to his country's the 'Bild' publication, he acknowledged, "With Mercedes it would not be possible to become a race driver in the near future."
Adding, "My goal for next season is to drive again."
Heidfeld left BMW Sauber at the end of 2009 as the Hinwill's squad situation was unclear over the winter due to BMW pulling out of the sport.
