Vettel aims to relax at home

Quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel revealed that he wishes nothing more then relaxing with his family and friends at home as Formula 1 embarked on its actual winter break.

Vettel won four consecutive titles with Red Bull in the era of the energy drink company-led team between 2010 and 2013. In the following year the team suffered a dip in performance as Mercedes overshadowed the competition.

Vettel's setback was also highlighted by his own struggles with the new power units. The German swapped his team to Ferrari at the end of 2014. As Ferrari found itself in misery, Vettel's move was a risky one to take, but one that paid off in the end.

On the question what has surprised him the most, Vettel replied: „I would say the final result of the Team. I wasn’t expecting such a strong season with Ferrari this year.”

The German driver hopes for even better results and enhanced performance in the forthcoming year.

„We want to be competitive next year against Mercedes, so I won’t go into details and tell our secrets. The fact is that we have to improve in a lot of areas, aero, engine etc. I think the results of this season have shown that we are on the right path, so now we just have to focus on ourselves."

The Ferrari-bound driver is about to spend his Christmas time and winter break with his family and friends.

„The winter break is short, and being in hotels most of the time I will just enjoy some time at home, where I can relax, and spend time with my family and friends.”
