Ferrari’s team principal Maurizio Arrivabene was downbeat after the German GP, but promised that Ferrari will continue fighting and improving its car for the remainder of the season. The Italian says the recent defeats spice up the mood inside the team even more and it propels Ferrari for even harder work.

Ferrari has had a season with ups and downs so far. The car has been competitive on most of the tracks, but various problems hindered the team to unlock its potential. However, the British GP was the first warning for the Italian team as its cars were long way behind Mercedes and Red Bull a few weeks ago.

The Scuderia regained its speed on Sunday of the following Hungarian GP. This weekend, though, meant another slip in performance. The SF16-H struggled for one lap pace on Saturday which did not show its usual improvement in race conditions on Sunday.

Team boss Maurizio Arrivabene did not hesitate to determine the areas Ferrari has to improve.

”While one week ago, in Hungary, our race pace was totally respectable, here in Hockenheim we experienced again some issues with both mechanical grip and downforce, which unfortunately are not unknown to us. Obviously, we must react as quickly as possible to cure these problems and most of all we must lose not to too much time in the process,” said the Italian.

Ferrari slipped back to third position in the Constructors’ Championship. It is now 14 points adrift of its closest rival Red Bull.

“Having been jumped in the Constructors’ championship only pushes us to react, and perform better in the second part of the season, after the summer break,” concluded Arrivabene.
