Alfa Romeo teams up with Acer

The Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen team has announced that it will be joining forces with Acer, a global leader in high-performance computing. The partnership will begin at the start of the delayed 2020 F1 season.

The Hinwil-based Alfa Romeo team has announced that it will have a high-tech boost ahead of the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix as Acer joins the Swiss-Italian outfit.

As part of the agreement, Acer will provide Alfa Romeo with workstations and monitor that will be used both in the Hinwil headquarters and on the race tracks. Moreover, the IT company and the F1 team will work together to „create engaging and compelling content for the growing audiences following both companies.”

Alfa Romeo Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur stressed that his team and Acer share values in many aspects.

“As a company, Sauber Motorsport shares a lot of values with Acer. Both our companies, founded in the ‘70s, have been innovating and refining their respective products since day one of their history. It is this relentless pursuit of excellence that leads us to explore the synergies that a partnership like ours with Acer can offer, I am looking forward to sharing the success of this 2020 season with them,” he said.

Acer is a Taiwanese company which was founded 43 years ago in 1976. The New Taipei City based firm is a multinational organisation that specializes in adcanced electronics technology. In 2015, Acer was the sixth-largest personal computer vendor in the world.

Vice President of Acer Europe SA Hajo Blingen is looking forward to the partnership between one of the global ICT leaders and Alfa Romeo’s F1 team.
