The yellow and black teapot is no more as the previously known Renault F1 Team was rebranded as Alpine for the upcoming 2021 season. In a live launch, the team has officially kicked off this season with their A521 car.

Apart from its colours, the team also boast management changes, as well as driver change, with Fernando Alonso making his Formula One return to team up with Esteban Ocon.

Team management present in the "virtual launch" feed didn't reveal much of the new car, underlining it is a start for the Alpine team, but also a step towards 2022, when Formula One cars will be dramatically different in a never before seen shake-up of the regulations.

"Because this car is essentially an evolution of last year's, we're now essentially at a crossroads", said Laurent Rossi, Alpine F1 CEO.

"I look forward to see this car compete this year with Fernando and Esteban behind the wheel. I hope we can build upon the momentum that we enjoyed in the second half of the 2020 season."

"Beyond that, as a team, we position ourselves to return to fight for victories and championships. The 2022 season provides a new challenge with a different car and a new engine".

At the same time, the team also announced they have taken on Daniil Kvyat as their reserve driver for 2021.

Alpine's A521 will hit the track for the first time tomorrow (Wednesday). Filming day at Silverstone, with Esteban Ocon at the wheel.
