Crash and technical problems for Massa on final day of testing

By on

Fourth and final day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again today at the Vallelunga circuit, north of Rome, with Felipe Massa, at the wheel of the F2007, and Kimi Raikkonen, at the wheel of the 248F1.

Although the rain finally moved on from the Roman circuit today, it had stayed for a long time in the morning, when Felipe had only done a few laps, interrupted by an off-track excursion on the still damp track. After completing an installation lap this morning, Kimi was back behind the wheel at one to continue with his familiarisation process with the car. In the afternoon, once the F2007 had been repaired, Felipe resumed development work on the new car, but a technical problem caused a further and final interruption to the session for the Brazilian driver.

The day in figures is as follows: nine laps for Felipe (best time 1.22.279,) 52 for Kimi (1.19.758.)

The Scuderia will resume testing on 30th January, at Valencia's "Ricardo Tormo" circuit: on track will be Kimi Raikkonen and Luca Badoer.
