Driver market open again

By on

As it leaked out today that Alonso will leave McLaren, the speculations about where the Spaniard will drive in 2008 flare up again. Toyota, Renault, Williams and Red Bull seem to have interest in the double World Champion.

Although Red Bull has already confirmed their driver line-up for 2008, they have showed interest in Fernando Alonso. Toyota, who only confirmed 1 driver for next season, Jarno Trulli, can use a man like Fernando to finally win their first Grand Prix and they also have the resources to pay the double World Champion.

During the silly season, Williams and Renault were the two teams who were linked with Alonso. With Renault, the Spaniard collected his two titles and it has been rumoured that Alonso already saw the drawings of the new car. Sir Frank Williams has interest in Alonso as well but seems not prepared to let Nico Rosberg go. As it was rumoured that Rosberg and Alonso would swop seats, Williams said "Rosberg is mine".

As Alonso will leave McLaren, there will be a lot of shifts in the driver market. More announcements will surely follow in the coming weeks.
