We will consider legal action - Briatore

Flavio Briatore, Renault's team boss, declared to the British newspaper 'The Daily Express' that his team considers legal actions against McLaren after the World Motor Sport Council hearing at Monaco. McLaren accused Renault of possessing confidential information and espionage.

Briatore declared: "A lot of very bad things have been said about us by McLaren in the last few weeks, very damaging. We will be cleared and once the verdict is announced we will consider legal action. Our reputation has been defamed."

Renault have always stated that, as soon as they knew of the floppy disks, the team suspended the employee and informed the FIA about the issue. The behaviour stands in great contrast with McLaren's actions as several management people knew about their Ferrari information for several months before taking action.
