Productive day for Honda drivers

The Honda Racing F1 Team began the final group pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain today. Rubens Barrichello and Alex Wurz had the driving duties today, with Jenson Button due to join the team on Tuesday.

Overnight rain meant that the track was damp and slippery throughout the morning session. Rubens and Alex completed a qualifying programme running on both the extreme wet and the wet Bridgestone tyres in the changing conditions

The circuit dried out sufficiently by the start of the afternoon for the Honda drivers to run dry tyres throughout their afternoon programme of full race distances with live pit stops.

Rubens completed 115 laps today, with Alex totalling 109 laps.

Jenson will take over from Alex for the second day of the test tomorrow.
