Kubica hopes to deliver in Turkey

In his two race appearances in Turkey, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica wasn't exactly what you might call lucky. This year, however, the Pole is determined to add World Championship points to his tally at Istanbul.

"I have to admit that Turkey isn't my favourite racetrack," says Kubica. "And to date, I haven't been particularly lucky there either," he adds, referring to the two races he has already contested at Istanbul for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. "In 2006, only the second Formula One Grand Prix of my career, I encountered tyre problems. Last year, things seemed to run better in the early stages, but later in the race I was hampered by graining." Still: despite these problems, Robert succeeded in scoring a point in the 2007 Turkish GP.

This year, however, the Pole has set himself a clear goal at Istanbul. "I am looking forward to this year's race as our 2008 car is a bit easier for me to drive. Consequently, I'm performing better, so I hope to also be able to do so and deliver in competitive style, in Turkey" he concludes.
