Hill fears for future British GP after vote of confidence

Many member of the FIA Senate were left feeling angry and confused that Max Mosley dodged the bullet yesterday. During an extraordinary meeting, Mosley won the vote of confidence and will stay on as President of the governing body. BRDC President Damon Hill declared that he is disappointed and that he fears the outcome of the vote might influence the future of the British Grand Prix.

Damon Hill said: "In my position as President of the British Racing Drivers' Club, trying to safeguard the future of the British Grand Prix, we really need an organization like the FIA to help us protect our position so we can have reasonable terms with the commercial rights holders. But it's very difficult when you have a president as controversial as Max to go to governments and argue the case for F1. Not taking on board the political atmosphere can be a strength sometimes but in this case it just seems to be inconsiderate for the sport."
