Massa tests new aero and mechanical solutions

No time to rest for the Formula 1 teams this week. Less than forty eight hours after the end of the French Grand prix, all teams competing in the World Championship met up again at Silverstone for the first of three days of testing.

Sitting in the cockpit of Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro's F2008 was the winner of the Magny-Cours race, Felipe Massa. The series leader worked on development of new aerodynamic and mechanical solutions, as well as taking an initial look at set-up on the car for the British Grand Prix, which takes place at this track on 6th July. The outcome of this first day was reasonably positive, with Felipe setting the fastest time of the day in 1.20:188. He completed 71 laps, with just a small problem towards the end of the day preventing the completion of the programme.

Testing resumes at this track tomorrow morning, still with Felipe Massa on track. On Thursday, it will be Kimi Raikkonen's turn to get into the F2008 cockpit.
