I think this sums up Bernie's approach...

A million? He'll talk to anyone as long as the cash arrives. Of course Bernie is going to make this seem a plausible because it feeds the hype that underpins his business model. It's like a Ponzi scheme, everyone in F1 has to say how great it is so they can attract the next bunch of gullible rich people.

I'm also sure Tilke is happy taking an all expenses trip plus hefty consultant fee so the organisers can claim he's been there already.

Well, we are meant to be having a race in Azerbaijan. That just about sums it up.

Old thread from a few months ago, but did anything else happen about this? Any updates?

There are plenty of "glamorous ladies" on the Las Vegas strip.

I don't know about Las Vegas but I hope we get another race in US. Especially if we keep losing "traditional" races like Germany, "bigger" countries like US and China should have multiple races. They have potential of markets, fans and even the teams of the future. I think it will be a good thing if F1 becomes more global.

Given that Europe these days is pretty similar in function to the USA (it's a federation of smaller states), it wouldn't be unreasonable to see not a US race, but a texan race, a californian race, and a new jersey race.

As long as its not a street race. Classic circuits are deemed unsafe for racing without tons of modifications, yet we throw up some tire walls extend and double the Armco and "poof" its safe to race F1 thru a major city? Parades are for Thanksgiving and Bud Bilikins day around here, F1 racing is for purpose made circuits.
If consistently being 7/10ths faster than you is a "mind game", then yes Jenson, Lewis was playing "games" with you.

Just a little back drop of info regarding any a race on the strip of Vegas is that the casinos will not back it. The last champ car race on the strip of Vegas while well attended didn't do a lot to the Casio's bottom line. They would have to convince the casino's like Wynn that it would help their bottom line. West of Texas and COTA probably would be Long Beach which Chris Pook is already trying to play Indy car and f1 against each other
