Hyundai Motorsport is looking to continue its recent run of strong performances with another positive result at Rally Italia Sardegna, the seventh round on the 2017 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.

Entering the second half of the 2017 season, the team finds itself in a position to challenge for the Manufacturers’ Championship, with its crews also featuring prominently in the Drivers’ standings.

Having claimed podiums at every gravel event this season, as well as six individual podiums in the last four events, the team is confident that it can once again compete at the front with its Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC.
WRC not a world stage?

they've won 2 races this year, had 1x 2nd place and 2x 3rd places. 2 wins last year, 4x 2nd place, 6x 3rd place.
they're 2nd in the standings right now, came in 2nd last year, and 3rd the year before. nothing on a 'world stage', lol.

no, they havent yet won a WCC. maybe this year, who knows.
but just because they haven't achieved something yet doesn't mean they're not going to.
there was a time neither ferrari, mercedes, mclaren, honda, had success in F1 or for that matter, other racing classes.

anyway, Hyundai mentioned they don't want want to commit to F1 because it's burning money like crazy.

Who cares about Hyundai, what racing pedigree do they have?
Said everyone about Ford until the GT beat Ferrari at LeMans.

Interesting story. Barely mentions that the Ford GT was designed and built in the UK by Lola. Also doesn't mention that Ken Miles was British. Got to love the Yanks...

The late 90s are not that long ago and as far as I know from a quick read on Wikipedia they have never won anything on a world stage. They should look at other forms of motor sports to build up experience before doing f1.

That's longer than Williams was in motorsport before he founded the current Williams team. They did ok - 9 constructor and 7 driver titles.

At least they won't be letting their egos get in the way of proper decisions being made. =D>

...you could also say that Williams hasn't won anything longer than Hyundai has been competing in motor sports. They're still here though. It's a big boy sport, don't blame them from not having the money to burn but I doubt that other F1 teams see their efforts as money burning. It's a business and when the can't keep it in the black they go the way of Manor.
