Im sure the ch4 stuff would be good if there were nothing else, I'm just comparing it to sky and in my opinion they are worlds apart.

Coulthard , EJ and webber dont do anything for me.

Brundle Hill Herbert Davidson Di Resta seem a better package.

I guess it you only watch F1 then sky sports is not the value i see it. I even pay for BT sport for the motoGP and IndyCar. (Discount BT price due to having BT internet and home phone)

And each season i will watch every full race from F1, MotoGP, F2, GP3, Moto2, Moto3, IndyCar, Formula E, World superbikes, World Supersport, British Superbikes. F1 will be every session live (sky go on friday)

Add to all that I will watch a lot of Golf (ryder cup exclusive to sky) on the golf channel, Most of the Snooker season on Eurosport. The Mosconi cup every year, The Darts world Championship over christmas.

1 thing i dont pay for is NASCAR, loved it on sky but they pulled the plug. Also i dont watch much football anymore, my beloved Blackburn Rovers dont make it on tv much now, and my Home town team Maidstone United aren't high enough YET to be on tv more than once a year.

So all in all i feel i get huge value for money for my tv package.

I can see why you see it as good value. If I tried to watch that much stuff, I'd end up living in the shed! Actually, that's not a bad plan...

Thing with Sky is, I wouldn't watch any of the other sports, I just don't have time. Thanks to my job I don't get to watch half the races live anyway, so the current C4 arrangement works quite well for me. Not sure how much we really lose with the highlights anyway - they seem to just reduce the number of laps where nothing happens.

The other problem I have with Sky is that I just don't like Brundle. I'm sure he's good at his job and popular with others, but for some reason he just grates on me. Not as much as EJ admittedly, but at least he's not on during the race lol.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I live in Europe, so no big difference for me.
But if the target is to maximise fans' capability or mood to watch F1, I totally support this.

But to gain fans in the US, you lose at the opposite end in Asia ect. So not really going to maximise fans, just move the location of some fans. Im in the UK, i just don't see it being fair on Asia/Australia ect.

But when it's noon/race-time in Europe, it's sunrise in US and night in Asia.
It's much more likely that ,currently, a median fan will watch more F1 in Asia than US, ceteris paribus.

If you place the race one hour later, you make it more possible for US fans to watch F1, because an hour makes a difference in the morning, plus Asia inhabitants are quite indifferent whether it starts 10pm or 11pm.

Just out of interest, How long for example has the British Grand Prix started at 1pm UK time ? I can't recall any other start time other than that.

Yeah, I an not pleased about this either. That hour doesn't change much for those in Australia either (it's just made it worse). But I suppose if it helps the american market, it's a small price to pay for the potential up gain of reaching a much larger audience that already is strongly into motorsports.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

i'm sorry but this 'upsetness' about an hour change of starting times in europe all but looks like as usefull, constructive, and rewarding as being upset for the millionth time about daylight saving time changing again back and forth. it happens, there's a reason to it, big deal. nobody dies, nobody ends up in jail, it's not like an entire country goes bankrupt over it.

Daylight savings is a ridiculous concept in the first place. Adjust time so people have more daylight instead of just getting up earlier ... It annoys me as often the direction I travel to work in a morning is at sun rise for most of the year and daylight savings actually extends this. So I spend most of the year going down the motorway with limited vision lol

yeah but it's not going to change no matter how many threads, posts, reddit, facebook, etc. etc. comments and energy is wasted on it. it is what it is.
