yeah I just read he has ditched a chance in Formula E for the Toro Rosso seat. I dont particularly rate him that high, he looked good in GP3 against Leclerc but lost out. His season in F2 the following year was poor, and this year he is nowhere near Russells level. Albon has just passed Norris in the standing but remember Norris is a rookie, as well as Russell. So I think Albon is just the best of whats available to Toro Rosso/Red Bull unfortunately.

They cant back out that easily.

I dont think Ocon would agree to that, it appears if he waits for 2020 he will get Bottas' seat. If he goes to Williams and runs around at the back for 12 months, he could end up the next Vandoorne.

Williams is waiting for Toto to offer them a PU deal or straight cash deal to pick up Ocon. They don't care about his Merc contract since they run Mercs...

I don't think a short Williams stay would hurt his ambitions. But anyway he won't drive Williams in 2019. He is the BOT replacement. I also think as his Tour against PER has shown that he is not even VET class Material he will not ripe to be a F1 superstar. If there is vor was a hype around him it ia not justified. VER HAM RIC ALO VET are the current top class, future will be VER HAM RIC LEC NOR RUS . I m not too knowlegabled of the lower classes upcoming superstars (apart from junior MSC yawn)... but OCO cmon, MAL could beat him on a good day.
