Oh very much so. But confidence is huge in this sport. A new chassis has, historically, provided a great placebo boost many times in F1 in past years
It has often been a case of drivers feeling something off in a car even when the engineers see no issue in the data. Vettel wasn't the first to suffer from this and he won't be the last. Real or not, a chassis change will be a good placebo boost as you said and should rule that doubt out in his mind. On the chassis side at least.
Agree. Hairline cracks for example could mess up aero. I doubt with this compacted schedule teams have time to run ultrasound scans on the cars to check for that. I’m not saying it’s the chassis I’m saying there is a possibility

I don't see RBR taking up Vettel. Clearly, he simply can't deal with a twitchy-arsed car very well; it has been bothering him since 2014 - and the RB16 seems more twitchy than any before. If RBR wasn't so inflexible regarding taking up drivers that do not come from their own academy, they'd have taken up Hulk already. He might not be the very fastest driver around, but he's reliable, can deal with twitchy cars, was not much slower than Ric, and probably is fine with settling in a second-driver role (more so than Vettel).
I agree about Vettel’s uncomfortability with twitchy rears. Oversteer does seem to be his achilles heel, perfectly countered back in his dominant days by the advent of on-throttle downforce boosts. Having said that, the 70GP-spec red bull doesn’t seem that twitchy. Maybe the extra tyre grip is helping to keep the rear on the road

It would probably not cost Ferrari anything. There are plenty of collectors out there that will give as much for the car as it costs to make a replacement. A first off is the expense, a copy is just materials and production. Of course, they will probably take the opportunity to incorporate an upgrade.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

True, with this weeks conditions it was great. But for the rest of the season (and preseason testing), we've seen several pirouettes by Max, and Albon giving it a spin nearly every weekend in FP...

All it takes is a review of Vettel's onboard to see how he handles imbalance. Does he make quick twitchy counter-steers as a driver who is uncomfortable with oversteer would do? How is his action on the throttle and brakes? A trained eye should be able to say if Vettel is truly uncomfortable or simply doesn't know how to get speed from the SF1000.

Can be viewed on its own or in comparison with Charles.

It would be interesting for RBR to take Vettel on a suitably low salary and one-year-deal, so we can see how Vettel stacks up against Verstappen!

Of course Horner will have to make it clear that collisions with Verstappen are unacceptable under any circumstance, and that Vettel will be required to drive a car with a similar setup to Verstappen for the purpose of extra data gathering, as the role of a 'second' driver requires like with Albon & Gasly.

If you are countersteering, it's too late! Verstappen's onboard is smoother, it is Albon who is the one swinging from being tentative in some corners to inadvertently overstepping the mark and fighting the car, as if he is unsure when it is going to break away. The same as Leclerc and Vettel.

I see you haven't trained your eyes to judge the car based on the onboards yet. 8)

You will learn in time.

I used to be like that. I used to wonder what the hell is Brundle and Paul talking about? How did they see the understeer there?! But with time you will pick it up. Carefully watch the steering wheel the tyres and the movement of the track... U will get it after a while. For me the youtube videos by Nigel mansel's son really helped.

This isnt quite the correct direction of thought tho. The statement was
Does he make quick twitchy counter-steers as a driver who is uncomfortable with oversteer would do?
Someone who is smooth and PREVENTS oversteer is not the same as someone being COMFORTABLE with oversteer
