In DTM most overtakes happened because drivers chose very different lines through many of the corners but that was years ago, haven't watched DTM recently so i don't know if that has changed.

I think it will be comparable to turn 13 in Shanghai, entry speed is relatively low.

I think this solution might, just, give us an overtake opinion at the end of the straight. Will be much like Suzuka (one real overtake spot) If succesfull.

From this image we can see main straight is apparently around 680m.

With predicted 30+ degrees banking I'd say cars will be flat pretty soon after the second to last corner, from around this point, or maybe just after:

Based on google maps measurements this will make for a total of around 1 kilometer of flat out section. Because of high banking the car following should have no problem staying full throttle.

For comparison, Hungaroring main straight is ~750m on google maps.

And after that we have the Tarzan corner were daring drivers can grab on to a liana (with right hand) to carry a higher speed through that corner.

Kidding aside, the 1 km should hopefully be enough to have a viable passing opportunity. I would think so.

Maybe they will leave the flat part and make the banking on the outside of it.

That's what i wrote in a post which i apparently forgot to send (only the preview, unless it got deleted without reason ... lol) ... Is there a properly banked corner on any track which doesn't have walls on the outside? Maybe they'll just extend the track in order to add the banking.

One aspect Zandvoort will retain is the presence of its gravel tracks which have been preferred to the installation of forgiving asphalt run-off areas.

"We are keeping the gravel," Zaffelli told RaceFans. "This was one of the requests from all the parties.

"FOM requested it because of the heritage of the track. The track [owners] asked for it. And as you know we are more than happy to have gravel instead of asphalt if we think that it is not necessary."
