Definite movement there...
when? at what time.... because the cam flickers sometimes
Very first braking zone, around 8 secs in, the steering wheel gets pulled towards him.
I thought on the current system the wheel is pulled towards the driver under acceleration and away from you under braking?

Nah, if they had it for the last few years a) it would have been spotted and b) they would say its not new we had it since 2017 - not 6 months

We have all got to thank God that they had already given it a name, otherwise we would have a got stuck with the "Trombone". Sky commentators must be banned from giving things names!

Are you telling me they've spent millions and integrated this steering system just to fool others in testing? Or what's your point?

I agree that Baku footage does not look the same to me. There is slight telescopic movement but in the wrong direction. It seems like something else than what we are seeing in Spain.

rrr. Because you can tell a lot from testing mate. It is actually very much representative for the majority of the teams for the most of the time.
That's why Ferrari destroyed Mercedes last year after being faster all throughout winter testing.
Did they really destroy Merc though ? Maybe the first test yes. And then the second test was Mercedes first test with the new car. Fastest laps last year were almost identical. Ferrari were I think 0.003 faster than Mercedes.
I was ironically saying they destroyed Mercedes during the season after being faster on winter testing and making every stupid journalist say Ferrari was definitely faster because of that.

Winter Testing is representative of the competitive landscape to those who want to look beyond the smoke screen of obvious numbers and have been following the finer details of the testing without any preconceived notions. There is abundant information for those who want to take it.

Click Bait journalism only wants sensationalism and they had enough profit last year. Some folks are desperate to see a picture that they so badly want and fill their canvas with obvious.

Sky commentators just heard the sad trombone sound that every other team heard when they saw that particular innovation  Then they decided to call it that

One thing we dont know is how much time it saves , if any at all, if its not something realted to tyre life anyway.

Changing the front wheels to 0 toe could save them half a tenth on a long straight or even less for all we know , so while this is a great innovation, I wouldn't say its a game changer yet. No need to panic eveyone !

i dont know why but i get the feeling this is distracting people from Merc hiding something else.
I wouldn´t be surprised at all. The question here is, how big can be the advantage with this sytem? maybe the controversy around it is much bigger than the actual gain.

For overall lap time? I don't think you'll see anything.

I think the advantage will be mostly measured in how quick the tires can be heated, how well they can be kept in the window and any advantage over a race distance with the slight lack of scrubbing on the straights. They were already good on tire life, this will just help that.
