Effect of weight on lap time / Heuristics

Post

Hello. This is my first post to this excellent forum. Watching the race this morning, with the 2/3 stop switches, I wondered about the weight affect.

On UK TV, Brundle quoting a S/Lap figure, but does anyone have some rules of thumb on the effect of weight on lap time, which could be used predictively for different (types of) circuits/conditions?

I have tried to search the forum for this, to no avail.

Regards, Andy.

As an average you can consider 0,3s loss for every 10kg of weight. So, apart from the new tires, after a pit stop, a car is 1,5 slower.
