BMW 6 weeks ahead

Post

Williams partner BMW is six weeks ahead with its new season preparations than at this time last year. In an attempt to catch Ferrari in 2003, the new V10 was already track tested and has a rigorous programme planned to boost its performance and reliability over the coming months. Although, the new regulations that allow only one engine per driver per weekend will force engine manufacturers to decrease revs temporarely. :)
"With the new engine we’re already six weeks ahead of the schedule compared to our programme in 2001," Theissen said.
"There will be further progress with the P83, but the (rev) curve will go down. I cannot imagine that anyone is going to achieve over 20,000 revs before they are going to decrease again due to the new engine regulations for 2004."
