Bernie Ecclestone estimated that the project Stefan GP was solid. But after research it seems quite light. After a research on the trade register in Serbia, here what one finds there.

Initially company AMCO Corporation is a limited liability company, founded the 14/03/2008 with a capital of 500 euros (80% for Zoran Stefanovic and 20% for Vuk Stefanovic). This company has only one employees and carried out in 2009 a sales turnover 3.315 euros and a bottom line of 42.7 euros. Surprised finally, the company Stefan Grand Prix Team, is not in the register.

In Motorsport-Total.com, Zoran Stefanovic, indicates that one of its engineers worked for military projects of drones. However, with only one employee, plural is not setting. The Serb businessman also states that there was confusion finally with the photographs on his Internet site.

That reads like the activities of a con man. The defense projects claimed for reference were all bogus. The system suppliers did not know anything of a participation of AMCO in the project.

The credentials of Zoran Stefanovic's Serbian engineering company AMCO have been called into question, according to the Cologne newspaper Express.

Before supporting Stefanovic's Formula One foray Stefan GP, Cologne based Toyota Motorsport was told AMCO was involved with space and military technology.

AMCO claimed it worked with Germany's Federal Defence Force (Bundeswehr) on flight drones and contributed to the European Space Agency's orbit launch rocket Ariane 5.

"After consulting with the system manufacturers of the drones KZO and LUNA we can confirm that in the Bundeswehr product there are no technologies of the Serbian company AMCO," said a spokesman of the German defence department Bundesamtes fur Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung.

Moreover, the manufacturers Rheinmetall Defense Electronics and Schrick said they are not aware of AMCO as a manufacturer of military technology.

Stefan GP was not granted an entry to contest the 2010 world championship.

Not that I'm very surprised to read all this, I've been more surprised that Toyota went to bed with this kind of character in the first place, what is known for certain about this odd relationship?

First conclusion: if your company wants to communicate in English, it's better to have someone writing that is able to express himself in English.

Stefan GP's (the company that doesn't exist) releases are tragically comical in that regard.

Never trusted much this venture, having one guy posing behind Toyota's fatal remains for photos, at least for me, isn't enough.

 if that news is true, it is astounding that the SGP journey survived as long as it did!

and in light of recent revelations.. what is actually in that freight..?

Did Toyota.. like BMW with Qadbak, like USF1 with Anderson, like Brawn with Henkel's ex-head of sponsorship.. get conned hugely??

wow.. F1 teams need to tighten their checks a little more..

It's another Qadback story, except Sauber at least managed to rise from the ashes of that one. There's a lot of shady characters around now pretending that they have money and resources to invest when they in fact don't, and they're only there to rip other people off.

After BMW Sauber and Qadback and USF1 the FIA had to clamp down here. The thing would have descended into chaos.

I'm very suprised that Toyota lent themselves to this to give Stefan an air of credibility.

Agreed, but what is Toyota's xact relationship with this Stefanovic character anyway, anybody knows for sure?

These most recent slap-sticks in F1 makes me wonder when Konrad Kujau will show up, remember him WB?

Toyota would never let someone wonder around their factory and offices just like that. The money was for real, Toyota got it for sure.

AMCO financial report for 2008 suggests that they haven't had enough money to buy a single F1 helmet.

So the answer to obvious question "Where the money came from?" would be - follow the money.

Perhaps German authorities will provide the information.

Re: Stefan GP

Possibly the FIA did more research than Toyota did into SGP which resulted in the FIA looking biased, but in reality, just being correct.
