This topic was fading away so I thought i'd add some info.

It appears that Jaime Alguersuari is trading his steering wheel for a mic & joining the BBC Radio 5 team.

I'm sure there are ceratin individuals who do not want to hear his opinions during the season.

He would be unwise to shred his old employers, as it will ensure new employers will not want him.

First of, I doubt he would've done that to begin with. But he has already expressed his opinion 'bout Red Bull/Toro Rosso to the media. The teams are aware of the situation & probably sympathise with him the way everything went down.

He'll be wise never to go on anyones word, verbal agreement or a handshake as far as his career is concerened.

Jaime Alguersuari would have been better off doing GP2, winning it in 2012 and making himself visible to other F1 teams.

If BBC radio is what it is going to be then I think F1 is over for him.

He wouldn't be allowed AFAIK - You're not allowed GP2 after you've had X number of F1 GPs

It's still hard to believe that he is a veteran of nearly 50 grands prix at 21 years of age. Going to WSR would be good, but he would really have to finish in the top two of the championship to avoid embarrassment. American motor sport could also be a good idea, he's young enough to develop into a great NASCAR driver, or he could jump straight into an Indy car and be very competitive. If he stays in Europe, he will have to finish on the podium of which ever series he enters though which wouldn't be much of a stretch for him really.

I don't think ALG is done with F1 just yet. The reason he isn't driving this year is because Marko sacked him last minute once most the seats had been taken.
His current plight has more to do with Red Bulls decision than anything to do with his driving.

I would hazard a guess he is better than 50% of the drivers who are actually racing.
More could have been done.

Agreed.

I second that thought. I'd take names of those 50%, but then again i'm afraid that I may get penalized for expressing my opinion.

I wonder where he would have ended up had marko fired him earlier

Force India ? Everyone seems to be happy that Hulk is back

Sauber ? No seat

Williams ? wanted pay driver or WDC

Caterham ? seat was available

Renault ? wanted a french driver, dont think they would have given kimi's seat knowing kimi was in the market

Test spots in all teams are still available

That rumor's been floating around for months. Not saying it won't happen - but would be interesting to see how he dovetails it against his commentating duties

That should be very easy.

PDLRosa was present for most GP weekends. And data garnered after a GP is used by test drivers back at the factory in sims. Not alot to do during a gp weekend.
