Lotus E20 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I am puzzled.First, they have been quoted like the results are not as expected, but now they are saying they are happy with it.
Is it working, quite or not at all?Anyway, we are going to find out in a couple of minutes.

What are the updates on E20 except Coanda exhaust?Grosjean's car was quite fast too.I think he made some errors in Q3 lap.

It is working, they now only need to refine it and add some fins and flaps on the floor to guide it.

Exactly.
This system still has a lot potential, especially on this car.Just try to imagine what could it be if E20 has at least some kind of DDRS.

I'm positively surprised with qualify peace of upgraded E20. Kimi has 0.383s to RBRs P1 time, 0.156s after MCL, 0,091s after SF. If we assume, that usually Grosjean is faster in qualify by 0.2-0.3s than Kimi, then we could tell that E20 start to be a front runner again. Maybe it's track, which flatten gaps between cars but certainly it's rather big progress.

I can't assume, that Grosjeans result is a measure, how much E20 gained. Romain complained about unstable tire work and lack of peace.
