Seems that new evolotion (look on the pic two post back ) needs furder inspection and comparisions with old one...

It's lovely to see Caterham becoming the first of the back markers to develop what looks like a real F1 front wing.

Which in itslf is strange that it took so long, i mean how hard would it be to build a copy of someones FW and bolt on the car, its not like HRTs could become worse from it :P

It not so easy like you mith think :wink: Even there on that Catherham exaple we could see how many test need engineers to evaluate the data and choose the right descision (or even wrong)...

The problem with a "real F1 front wing" is that it is hugely complex. It needs alot of CFD knowledge, testing data, etc. Apart from that you also need to be able to produce the complex shapes.
A HRT wing might not give the same performance, but it is much easier to understand. Why even bother going complex if you don't know how the vortices and airflows will end up? You are limited by rear downforce anyway.

The other problem is, that 'real' F1 frong wing might be every bits as good as the front runners - and be a complete flop when it doesn't match the flow with the rest of the car :lol:

Imo Marussia already has a 'worthy' on this whole year, and also last year. afaik it was the only piece of the car that actually seemed well developped

I think there might be a lvl of maybe not misunderstanding but maybe diff views of what makes up a real modern f1 wing, id go with saying this new or newest caterham wing is a modern f1 wing with its intricite design.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Updates

Continuing the development of the CT01, which has further updates planned for each of the remaining 2012 races, Caterham F1 Team will launch a number of technical updates at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The package for the Yas Marina Circuit is the most significant update for a number of races from which the team is aiming to find around three to four tenths of second in laptime. Among these will be a revised exhaust layout incorporated within new rear bodywork, new front brake duct assemblies and detail updates to the floor, diffuser and front wing.
