Toro Rosso STR9 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

was thinking the same!

also note the detail shot of the rear suspension with the silvery part. that is some interesting packaging right there

seems toro rosso has done effort for a very low COG

If TR guys can pack Renault power unit this tight, I wonder what Newey made with RB10.

That doesn't look promising for non-RB fans.

Toro Rosso has done effort across the complete board. By far the most detailed car I've seen up until now. I could just look for hours to that car and still find details to talk about.

I'm hugely curious what it'll bring at Melbourne. That's a clear step ahead on the likes of mclaren and ferrari if it's reliable.

Well it has a wow factor in both good and bad ways. That dongle is the biggest one yet :)
The rear end though is pure sex. Amazing how they managed to tighten up the rear end so much in comparison to the Mclaren which really starts to look like a tank back there.

So much space!

The cars rear-end seems massively inspired by RB9.

I like how the nose thins under the body as it moves back. That is a huge intake under the roll hoop. The exhaust exits all around the back of the engine. I thought the gurney flaps were banned on the top of the diffuser, guess not.
