Are those the Titanium strips (attached to plank on ref plane) that will fit under the car?

I have a feeling the E23 is going to be fighting for podiums the first time out. The car was just too good in 2013 with these aero rules.
2013 aero rules featured blown diffusers and high noses, 2014 did not.

Looks like some sort of aluminum-heavy(over 6%) titanium alloy but that would most likely mean it was already fully machined and shaped.

Raw titanium is a bit more light reactive and these plates, at least to me, seem have the white-blue of a titanium-aluminum alloy.

looks like the monocoque seen from the back (part where the fuel cell sits)... top part goes to roll hoop..
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Big color screen, comfy seat, convertible roof... looks like the #E23 has everything it takes to be a top car :-)

The side of the cell seems really wide. Ducts or spars for a wing?

I guess what you mean is (maybe) because of this:
The Zylon anti-intrusion panels on both sides of the survival cell have been extended upwards to the rim of the cockpit and alongside the pilot’s head.

It's normally that wide. Usually for fuel tankn shape optimization. You may not notice it when the car is finished if they decide to place covers over it, or even the paintjob disguising where the cell ends and the sidepods start.
For Sure!!

I expect the Lotus to be a lot more competitive this year. They have the Merc PU and a chance to copy the best aero aspects of the Mercedes and Red Bull. I'm expecting most of the cars to look very similar.
