Red Bull RB11 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Nothing, they are trying to draw attention, move on.

Omnicorse was right and it looks like short noses are the most common in 2015. This one is the ugliest of them all and close to vacuum cleaners of last season.

Central FW section must be aero neutral.
Optical illusion. (Go figure. )

Yes, and central cooling inlet below airbox is larger.

Much smaller pelican tip under the nose compared to late season RB10.

Also much smaller air inlet above the driver's head compared to toro rosso. What's up with that?

There is (what looks like a complicated) slot just before the turning vanes at the nose. (Just where the nose cone ends))
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

Should be an integrated Infrared Camera to Measure Tire Temperature.

Pretty big bulge and pretty big aperture for an ordinary IR camera.

That's nothing new. Red Bull have an infrared front tyre camera in the mirror housing for testing.

I think they're all OLED (which makes sense given the weight advantage), but yeah, I was hoping the limitation on communications to drivers would force all Red Bull and the other's that hadn't yet switched to do so.

Sure, it is some kind of a camera.

They had it in 2014. too.

I just wanted to say that these are bigger cameras than those on other cars.
Probably not simple and ordinary IR camera, probably something more advanced.
Thermal vision or something like that.

And that bigger cameras came after RBR signed FLIR Systems as their new partners.
