Force India VJM08 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Maybe someone from germany can let us know exactly what it says.
That is correct. The Article states it is the former Second chief Aerodynamicist from Red Bull and hist First name is Guru.
Do we know who he is? Any background information on him.. I have searched high and low but could not come up with an answer to this one.

Did either of them try put the car in a low fuel qualifying set up.

Because that would help know more about the car.
Williams was fast but they achieved this with low fuel set up.

So Ferrari could be faster then Williams or RedBull we Dont know if they pushed or not.

For that matter it would help get an idea if Force inifa Pushed or not. If Force india did race simulation and got those times then the car is fast. B t I also wouldn't be surprised if Force India has more rave pace then qualifyin speed. That seems to be the norm.
The A-spec car is basically a evolution of last years car, they did as much as they could do in 3 days time. They are clearly lacking downforce and one lap pace. Here are some figures of their best sector times compared to the rest.

I quite a few similarities to the Mercedes front wing there, included the small slit at the bottom of that vertical, outward curving vane.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
