Williams FW38 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Oh that's not conventional at all...

They've got a wraparound support from the gearbox casing to the exhaust that is being used to shape airflow?

FW38 looks sharper and more aerodynamic from this angle in comparison. Would like to see a comparison of the rear end.
Friendship with Honda ended, Renault is my new (and more reliable) friend.

They have Mclaren'esque Vortex Genarators on the RW Endplate now.

It's silly to put 2016 front wings on for the reveal - gives too much away for no benefit. It's a plank with curly bits on to 99.999999% of people.

It looks like they've gone the raised gearbox route too providing better airflow over the diffuser! 8)

Fear my Paint skills! ;)

Very interesting rear, featuring some sort of tunnel to help reroute the air over the diffusor.
