If they did not like the shark fin they should have made it out of Plexi Glass

Would it weigh a lot?

Is there a regulation shape to the shark fins, or is it a minimum area or size?

the engine cover has a minimum surface area, because the teams package so tight to the engine etc they don't meet the requirements, the shark fin therefore increases the surface area to the minimum requirement.

yes, but the shark fin is much bigger than that "minimum area"

Looks like a good improvement but still basic as we should expect. That sharkfin on the back looks good, RW also, but FW looks too simplistic to my eye but fingers up for the great effort and for actually showing us the real car =D>

Shark fin looks looks awful, i think the reason of not banning it is for the purpose of nice and flat advertisement space.

No-one said it was a Caterham design, just that Caterham staff were there during development and clearly influenced the Sauber designers with something they had experience with

why should it be banned? to give RB an advantage, to make the cars look "good"?

I mean since when do insects look handsome.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

My comment wasn't aimed at you, just at that tweet. Reading it, you get the assumption it was Caterham who invented it
