Aston Martin Red Bull Racing TAG Heuer RB14

Haven't seen anything on here yet. But I was watching the FP2 highlights on youtube and I noticed the frontwing on the RB14 looked different. Is it a new frontwing or the same one?

Correct, RIC did an aero-rake run in FP1 and compared both versions.
Obviously it worked as expected and both drivers used the new one in FP2.

Another angle of the new frontwing.

Reminds me a lot of the frontwing RBR ran on the RB12 at Spa in 2016.

Impressive how much shorter and tighter the exhausts are.
It's quite different angle so it make lot of difference in the picture.

True. The first picture I posted of the new front wing provides a better contrast to the RB12 frontwing than the one from my second post.

Another angle of both cars before today's heartbreak.

Nice view of the internal parts of the FW.

Would those be pneumatic or electrical lines? Also, the core of the wing doesn't look like foam/rohacell.

Nice capture... Why so much wires in FW? It rise some questions/speculations for me... I can understand a few wires for a sensor or two, but 5 pairs for each side? IR cam? They are usually in sidepods not in FW... Can they electrically manipulate the wing cascades? Some sort of thermal change of the structure to make it hot=softer=more bendable for straights to reduce drag and let them cool down for curves to have them stiffer... Or some kind of piezoelectric effect for the same purpose?

Maybe it's there to sense flex at various points of the FW. Then the wing can be optimised in the next trip to the pits

Always find the gap then use it.

FW sensors not especially new: https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/tech ... nsors.html
Don't forget wing-mounted tyre temp sensors too: http://www.f1i.com/magazine/29226-techn ... sia.html/5

Not hard to use up 5 channels...

Is there a carbon version of memory metal? or bi-metallic formers in the wing?
