The spray off the tyres still messed with the aero. If teams suddenly start performing diffetently in the rain its probably indicative of different methods to managing the tyre wake
Not sure we've heard that excuse before!
RedBull, like everyone else, send front tyre wake as far out as they can - especially important with their high rake car where the tyre wake could have huge effects if they let it go under the rear.
More likely is one of these:
1. The drivers aren't as good in the wet
2. The car doesn't get/keep the inters/wets in their operating window
3. The chassis is to "pointy" in the dry which makes it tricky in the wet
4. The engine's power delivery isn't as driveable in the wet as other engines.
