Toro Rosso STR13 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I wondering if STR can clocked 333kmh at the first test with their turbojet sized intake and also Last year STR is well known as draggy chassis, if honda introduce update and turn up the engine with RB sized intake, how fast the car? And is it possible to introduce smaller intake without need to pass crash test again?
Str wasn’t a draggy car last year, they had tiny sidepods and were usually in the middle of speed trap charts.

Compared to RB and and Renault at the end of season, STR is draggy. Look at how they tried to reduce drag at baku and monza, their speed trap always not so good.

Red Bull did the same, and they were only 2km/h faster. Both teams were much faster in a straight line than Renault itself.

Except for the end of the season where STR was running on reduced power the STR12s appeared in at least the middle of the speed trap figures and more than often had one car in the upper end.

Yes. I remember it well and it caught my attention.
It's one of the reasons why Hartley feels Honda PU is stronger.

There's a vertical turning vane just inwards of the rear brake flip-ups on both sides. edit...that's the rear wing endplate. Wow, I need more coffee...

I know this isn't just the STR, but from that rear shot it's amazing how much the upper rear arms look like a beam wing lol (I realize that is no coincidence btw).
