McLaren MCL33

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

With 3d printed models, many of which don't work? I feel McLaren are doing it to a much greater extent. But I haven't followed the other teams in detail so maybe I'm wrong.
I was speaking strictly about the Singapore package they tested at Monza.

What do the aero experts here say to this flow-viz pattern?

To me, from the speckles of flow-viz on right hand side with no flow/movement, that picture looks like it was taken AFTER they sprayed the flow-viz but BEFORE they went on track.

Alonso fastest in speed trap during quali (346kph) vs vandoorne 17th (333kph)
Yes, with Magnussen tow xDD.
They both pitted before the speed trap when he was behind Mag. In general that information is garbage cause you really don`t know what lap it happened on(for example it could have happened on his worst lap).

It`s kind of insulting that 30 years on they still give us the same data. I hate that F1 dumbs down the data they make available. I wish they would supply us with more relevant information, like all the trajectory that all the teams have.

You can check in the f1 App, it was when alonso overtake Magnussen in last lap before to turn 1.

OK, I'm talking about the season.

Stofel's car on the grid. Look at the end plates on the rear wing...they've changed.

Same since Spa. Part of the low DF package.

Doesn't this increase the undercut of the end plates then? Maybe some creative guy/gal can take advantage of that.

I also think that slots below the wing are allowed. That was an effort by McLaren to reduced DF and drag on the rear wing for SPA/Monza.
