That is a direct function of the long wheelbase. All the cars are about the same length from the front axle centerline to the front face(and even back face) of the engine. The major variation in length is between the back face of the engine and the rear axle centerline.

The car no longer has the horizontal horns in the barge board area carried over from w09, but has replaced the horn with three airfoil elements that if you look from the top view, would fulfill the function of the horns from last year by having roughly the same plan area and within the same footprint. Very smart development by Mercedes.
Most teams like mclaren are copying last years horns, merc have moved the needle further.

Third year in a row Mercedes are doing things 50% different in barge board area. Two very thick surfaces around side pod inlet driving flow down, not a small amount of drag.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Then I was actually WRONG.

The push-rod is connected as 'usual'.

I don't know, nevertheless, what were those bulges clearly seen in the first Silverstone laps...

I don't think that was illusion. It was very clear in the earlier pictures. Might be that, Mercedes is testing different bits.

I was looking to the pictures in Silverstone and i don't see any difference. What bulges are you guys talking?

At the launch there was this bulge on both pushrods. Some thought it was a cover for some sort of pivot but it looks more to me like a kind of sensor/camera housing or just a diversion tactic.
