gorgeous! I wish we knew a bit more about the wheels and their outwash effect

and as for cooling the temperature sensor :?

Definitely a fantastic shot! Regarding the cooling for the brake temperature sensor, a lot of the IR sensors I've seen used to monitor brake temps on sports cars can handle a temperature range of about -20° to 1,020° C. You get beyond that upper limit of the range, and you'll need cooling.

New chassis meaning the cooling will all change now? Might we see a complete repackaging of the drivetrain with even tighter bodywork now? They did say it would be visually very apparent when the upgrades show up. Never thought we would see a Merc Bspec car.

Chassis here I interpret as the safety cell monocoque inclusive of the cockpit, fuel tank, and front suspension box. The gearbox has essentially become a rear monocoque, but it's also shared with other teams. Not sure if it's included in this context.

Thoughts on what approaches they've used lighten the saftey cell further?

Of course, but one would think if they reworked the tub they must have optimized installation even further. Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up.

I'd really like to know if there are restrictions by the regulations on how much a team can change the car compared to the first homologation in the winter?

They could show up with a new car every race as long as all the components are homoligated. Only limitation is aero time and money.

I thought there were some limitations on the chassis-side as well as e.g. the frozen gear ratios for the gear box.

Well yeah gear sets are locked in from the start, but anything open to development can be changed at any time.

Working from a steady base and not having to redesign major components.
Since 2014 Mercedes is working with a model where the air goes around the nose, under the front suspension to the diffuser while Mercedes and Redbull switch between under the nose, over the nose and under to over the side pods. Ferrari even changed from pull to pushrod suspension.
The W10 could be called the W05F
