It’s just duct tape to hold on some sensor wires.

I haven't noticed before that the most upper element of the front wing doesn't attach to the end plate.

It does attach, that area is painted black and the flap adjuster has a little vane so it can be trick to see from some angles.

Looks like there is a slot on top of the crash structure. Smoke is coming out of it. That's why there is this thick isolation or heat shild.

So when you say "the push rod arm link to the hub is even further backwards compared to the upper wishbone pivot," you mean further inwards, that is to say closer to the monocoque.

I've just seen Roon's post above and can see it's both inboard and rearwards.
I originally pointed out it was rearwards, yes.
