Red Bull RB15

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Seems like this is the new higher downforce rear wing AMuS is talking about. The RW main plate looks bigger indeed but I would like to see more pictures of it:

I don't know if this is the new rear wing, but here's another photo of it

Rear wing endplates are more simplistic.

They were like that on the launch car. It doesn't look new to me.

Horner has been quoted as saying that they have been running a "Montreal Spec" wing up until now and the car was not easy to balance but the new wing should solve this

The main element is more highly cambered on the "big wing". Look at the difference in the apparent length of the central pylon.

EDIT Yeah, sitting much lower this one. I was thinking the support structure was thicker too but on closer inspection I think this due to the camera angle. the DRS-y bit is more upright too.

Why do people keep talking about so called "radical " front wing yet overlooked the fact that torro rosso is running the very same wing. Redbull didn't miss anything on the front wing they have known about it from their junior team

Red Bull and Toro Rosso are running pretty dissimilar front wings. If anything, Red Bulls front wing is more like that of the Mercedes and the Toro Rosso is more like the Ferrari. Notice that the Red Bull upper element nearly reaches the top of the end plate whilst the Toro Rossos dips downwards significantly as it approaches the end plate. The Red Bull is producing a much stronger Y250 vortex as well

Here it is google translated so you don't have to look it up.

"We hear from the Red Bull camp: As of today, the right rear wing adorns the RB15. "Before, it was a Montreal wing," jokes team principal Christian Horner. Meaning: A rear wing with too little contact pressure. The new produces more downforce in the rear. This makes it easier for the engineers to balance the car. Honda has swapped the engine for safety after the impact of Pierre Gasly yesterday. Investigations have shown that the engine was not damaged."
