Racing Point RP19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter does not belong here.

No its just the way they place their dampers and springs. The damper is blue in colour(Multimatic DSSV sourced probably like the Redbull's) behind that mini silver tank(Not sure what that is) and accelerometer. Unlike other teams Racing point have their dampers placed really high up. Which what makes them fast in certain street tracks giving them excellent traction for a car with less down-force that the other teams. They have been doing this since 2017. The top aluminium part is the bevel shock.

According to Giorgio Piola they have two heave elements rather than just one.

What are these pods? New cameras?
Tire temperature cameras. They use them during free practice sessions

The new Racing Point front suspension has a nice old school look to it. Rather than the arms sloping upwards from the wheel to the monocoque, the reverse happens with a downward angle instead:

The front nose cone has had a change in Canada as well with a larger tunnel along with that mini version of Mercedes 's nose cape. And like mentioned that suspension has been part of the update in Canada as well.

An update, they used the old spec front nose cone for qualifying and got knocked out in Q1.
