Are we certain they're not just the skates for shuffling the car about?
'cause the front wheel protectors are still on.

That's exactly what I think it is too.

In terms of the sidepods looking different, maybe it's just an eye trick of the new paint scheme which has more black.

RB-like rear brake duct. Interesting that they bring it on a very brake intense Course like Singapore.

Compared to the previous design it just seems likes they've increased room underneath the duct to possibly encourage further low-pressure air over diffuser.

Cooling and potentially strengthening to avoid the failure Norris had in Canada.

The top pic doesn't look like damage. The diffusers generally have that profile in that area.
