Ferrari SF1000

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter does not belong here.

Can radiators be changed or are they already frozen for this year?
My understanding was that that’s how they were planning to use their tokens - I guess we’ll see; it seems odd to use a filming day now if they don’t think there’s something to fiddle with.

Did anyone notice the state of Charles’ tyres? He said he backed right off at the end - hence DR being so close - but curious to know if it had the grooves/lacerations Horner described on Max’s.

I didn’t see the rears but front tyres didn’t seem too bad from the outside but it’s difficult to judge of course.

I am really puzzled why is Ferrari not bringing any upgrades.I mean they are still 1 sec down to Merc and that is a huge margin.

Is Ferrari going to bring new upgrades by filming day?
First it's important to solve all the long time issues like correlation, team dynamics etc. Why bring upgrades when you have other more serious problems going on? They need to re-do whatever they need to finally have a healthy and balanced working environment. That's crucial for the future.
I agree, but its Ferrari, if they won't try anything it will be really heartbreaking. As a Ferrari fan every weekend i wait just to see where red car is.
That's exactly the mindset which fans shouldn't have at the moment. Things like "it's Ferrari, they need to deliver" won't help. They need to use their brain now. No space for pressure. Patience will be the key.

But that's off-topic. I'll quote Binotto in the team thread, if you're interested in reading his opinion.

In an interview today, Seb confirmed the filming day on Wednesday.

Dunno if anyone said it but Binotto denied Ferrari bringing any update for the filming day or next week.

Rake is considerably lower on the photo from the filming day.

I think it's just squatting down on the straight.
Anyway, today they used the AustrianGP FW and RW specs. Might go for more downforce this time.

Suggestion here that they *may* have used the new stiffened gearbox at the filming day with a view to introducing (with a token) at this weekend’s GP:

They speak about "a showy vertical flap that had gone unnoticed in the British GP because it remains hidden under the third central wing", but it is not so clear what they are referring to.

I think he means the S-shaped winglet under the sidepod inlet in the undercut. Though it was part of the Styrian upgrade package.
Merc got something similiar as well.
