Aston Martin DBR6 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

In this pic - from motorsport.com - the thin stripe is pink and not yellow... so what? two versions maybe? Vettel / Stroll?
Would that be legal?

I take it you didn't watch the launch... The stripe is actually pink. We only wish it was lime or yellow because that would look 100 times better.

so seb will be racing lewis on similar hardware?
Honestly, this is just plain suspicious. RacingPoint even moved away from Mercedes's sidepod philosophy last year after Mugello. How come they managed to come up with the same philosophy Mercedes used in their W12 (not even W11).
the underlying hardware is the same, that's what defines the shape from the sidepod back. As for the sidepods they are similar but not quite as close as everyone seems to think. If anything the AMR21 sidepods look more like the Ferrari in inlet shape and crash structure composition

I think they opened up an actual thread for the car, maybe we should post these there.

Anyway, to respond to your comment, nobody is talking about the inlet shape/size. When we say sidepod we mean the packaging around rather than the inlet itself. And if you carefully follow the bodywork "slopes" of each car in the side view, you will notice that they are extremely similar.
