Well colour me surprised. It looks way better than I expected in the flesh.

I really do like how the yellow looks, and indeed the rest of the engine cover looks less bad (I had 'fish' in my mind there from the renders) than I thought, while the nose indeed does look good as I thought.

McLaren's livery shows the bulk in the engine cover part less, but it's a bit similar, and they trade that for narrow sidepods with a big undercut - yeah, it's a different philosophy from AM and Merc. themselves (and they proved they were quick last year!), but might work well enough, esp. if they get understanding the tyres right.

It looks to me at least that the new front wing is designed for more front downforce. If that's the case, is it a sign that the rear is producing more and better downforce compared to last year?

The reason I ask, is that if they designed a front wing that swings the balance towards the front of the car, wouldn't that mean they would a) know they have more DF at the rear to make it better balance, or b) last year the car simply wouldn't turn in?

Anyone know why Williams still uses an "old" style steering wheel...electronic display mounted on the dash/not the wheel?

Reduces the inertia of the steering wheel.

...I quite thought it was due to reducing the coriolis effect of draining one's banc account (or the last remaining bit of genius from Paddy) :D
