McLaren MCL35M

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

When we are not quite sure what we are looking at after multiple pictures, it probably means they have unlocked something :o

I've spent 30 mins trying to reference other bargeboard images, haha I'm still very confused because the angle suggest a lot has changed, obviously a lot of vigorous wind tunnel time has gone into this package so lets hope for some major gains.

Think the different angles are making those look different.

We'll have to wait for more pictures then...

Don't Ferrari have a similar design on their car?

Lots more metal parts in the Mclaren assembly, or Ferrari paints theirs?

From THE RACE
With these boomerang wings working correctly, you will get the front downforce gain but lose less rear downforce, so that adds up to more of an increase in the total downforce – which will improve the lap time.

If the famed Mr Anderson is correct this could be a small but important update for the team helping to address a key weakness

I’m still expecting updates to the rear of the car however, and I thought McLaren said Hungary updates would be the last this year. I guess time will tell, maybe there’s more to come this weekend, or stuff in the pipe-line for after the break

Yeah...why they had to manufacture it from several (7or 8 ) sections ..and why so many material changes?
