Red Bull RB16B

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Also is that floor legal?
I think so. It seems more basic than the ones seem on McLaren or AlphaTauri. Nothing substantially different in terms of winglets or the aero treatment to the old floor. :?: Perhaps there is more to come, or Red Bull already have good performance from this design?

The rear undercut looks... suuuuper aggressive in these hi-res photos..
I think by adopting the new engine they have been able yo optimize this area perhaps..
Be good to see if thr AlphaTauri is just as aggressive here too..
I think RB may well have stolen a march on others...

Edit: yea ive looked the AlphaT looks almost as aggressive.. i guess alphaT would be using 2020 RB rear end, so we can compare last years RB - but with the new engine.. and tgis years rear and engine..
AT is continuing with the 2019 RB15 rear end this year.

Interesting that they seem to have ditched the latest version of the nose they run in Abu Dhabi, I thought they were going to further develop that concept:

Red Bull has been back and forth with those 2 noses, i can't be sure the presentation nose is the one that's gonna be in the car in first race.

They changed the rear suspension. If I'm not mistaken that would mean they also changed the gearbox (different mounting points). So does that count as two tokens?

No, a token value was assigned to each change. Both of those changes would require 2 each so not possible

In regards to the suspension only the inboard elements are homologated. Wishbone elements can be amended token free

The gearbox was changed, so the suspension changes are consequential due to the remounting of the same internal suspension

I had a look through the pictures earlier, I'm posting a thread on each car as they appear - but will share here. I forgot my old login!

I think Ferrari will be doing the same. Let's see who gets it right...

The stream above the E, below the Bull is the stream they will try and divert to the diffuser with the sidepod changes imho.

A lot isn't going to be shown.

On a side note I never realised Scarbs lived quite close
